The Computer Science & Engineering Department (CSED) at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Patiala-147004, Punjab is organizing a SERB-DST Sponsored (under Symposium & Seminar Scheme) Seven Days Hands-on Workshop on Convergence of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) & the Internet of Things (IoT) in Smart Solution. The workshop will be held from February 19 to February 25, 2024 in offline mode. The primary aim of this workshop is to offer researchers from academia and industry a comprehensive understanding of the challenges within the domains of XAI and the IoTs .
All faculty members, research scholars, undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and industry experts are welcomed to register for this workshop.

Chief Guest & Speaker
Dr. Sumantra Dutta Roy
Professor, IIT Delhi, India
Prof. Sumantra Dutta Roy is a B.E. (Computer Engineering) from D.I.T., Delhi (1993), and completed his M.Tech and Ph.D. from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, I.I.T. Delhi, in 1995 and 2001, respectively. He started his career in teaching and research in the Department of Electrical Engineering at I.I.T. Bombay as an Assistant Professor from 2001 to early 2007. From 2007 to 2018, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at I.I.T. Delhi. Since 2018, he has been a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at I.I.T. Delhi. He has received numerous awards from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He has been an Associate Editor of many International Journals of repute (like, Pattern Recognition, IEEE Transactions, etc). His research interests are in Computer Vision and Image Analysis, Video and Image Coding, Biometrics, Music Information Retrieval, and Medical Informatics.
